Class A CDL Equipment Operator

Clean Harbors in St. Louis, MO is seeking a Class A CDL Equipment Operator to operate a variety of heavy and light duty trucks and work equipment at customer sites.

About the role

This position involves performing driving and non-driving duties on and off customer sites associated with hazardous waste clean-up. Hazmat and Tanker endorsements are preferred. New hires must attend a two-week paid Academy training out of state, with all expenses covered by the company.

Schedule

• Typically Monday through Friday, average start time 6 am
• Average 8-10+ hour day, with overtime after 40 hours
• Must be available for emergency response or project work that could require out-of-town travel for up to 2 weeks at a time (hotel and per diem provided)
• By position, ability to be on call for emergency response on a rotating basis every other week

Pay

Pay range: $25–$27+ per hour

Responsibilities

• Ensure Health and Safety is the number one priority by complying with all safe work practices, policies, and processes
• Operate commercial trucks and assist field laborers when needed (team atmosphere)
• Operate a variety of Class A trucks, including vacuum trucks, Cuscos, guzzlers, and roll-offs
• Load and unload trucks
• Perform manual labor on-site to fulfill customer needs
• Properly placard vehicles to meet Company and DOT requirements
• Maintain daily logs, time sheets, and various reports
• Follow all local, state, and federal compliance regulations
• Safely operate vehicles in accordance with U.S. DOT, local, state, and federal requirements
• Observe all corporate operating guidelines and procedures
• Adhere to company environmental health and safety operating guidelines
• Perform site remediation, equipment decontamination, and handle hazardous materials (by position)
• Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

• Valid Class A CDL
• Ability to obtain Hazmat and Tanker endorsement within 90 days of employment
• Ability to use various mobile devices
• Perform physical functions as required by the job
• Successfully complete a background check, drug test, and physical (by position)
• Per OSHA’s Respiratory Protection Standard, 29 CFR 1910.34, employees in positions requiring respirators must meet facial hair standards

Qualifications
