About the Role
Safe operation of a TADC with a 53’ dry van. New equipment, state-of-the-art technology, 80% drop and hook. Home daily.
Responsibilities
- Safely operate a TAS with 53’ dry van in accordance with Corrugated Logistics policies and procedures and all federal, state, and local regulations for commercial motor vehicles (CMV).
- Conduct thorough pre-trip, en-route, and post-trip inspections of equipment as prescribed by the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) and submit written reports on the condition of the tractor and trailer.
- Operate tractor-trailer equipment in various configurations, weights, and conditions (climatic, terrain, road, traffic) in urban, rural, and long-distance settings.
- Perform drop, hook, spot, switch, and interchange of equipment, including hooking/unhooking trailers, adjusting converter gear, and raising/lowering landing gear.
- Ensure all required shipping documentation accompanies deliveries and verify documentation against load information provided by dispatch, noting any discrepancies (overages, shortages, damage).
- Properly secure or re-secure cargo as required.
- Frequently communicate with Dispatch/Operations regarding stops, movements, equipment issues, delays, or other concerns via PeopleNet, phone, or in person.
- Report all accidents, incidents, or moving violations involving company equipment or personal vehicles, and provide initial contact with public safety or law enforcement when necessary.
- Maintain an electronic driver’s log in compliance with FMCSA and Corrugated Logistics requirements, monitoring hours of service and reporting discrepancies.
- Complete all required paperwork, including inspection reports, manifests, bills of lading, trip pay reports, fuel/mileage reports, accident reports, and other records as mandated by law or company policy.
- Perform roadside inspections as required by law or company policy.
- Work in adverse weather conditions without environmental controls, maintaining production to meet service schedules.
- Represent the company professionally in all communications with customers, law enforcement, and the public.
