About the role
Pratt Industries is a sustainable packaging company that manufactures corrugated boxes for clients such as Domino’s Pizza, Home Depot, Amazon, and Hello Fresh. As a Clamp Truck Operator on the 3rd shift, you will supply the corrugator with paper material, assist the corrugator team, and help maximize setup and operation efficiency.
Responsibilities
- Operate a clamp truck to move rolls and organize the work-in-process area.
- Maintain a clean work area, including sweeping and trash removal.
- Manage roll room inventory, presentation, and reconcile end-of-shift consumption daily.
- Report incoming damaged rolls and dress rolls down as needed.
- Complete stock take/cycle count daily and manage butt rolls.
- Perform tasks associated with the Preventative Maintenance program.
- Ensure correct delivery of all roll stock and remove waste from docks and corrugator at shift end or as needed.
- Provide backup to the Roll Handler as required.
- Maintain sufficient paper on the floor to prevent corrugator downtime.
- Adjust to scheduling changes based on customer needs.
- Comply with all Plant and OSHA safety rules.
- Additional duties as assigned by supervision.
Requirements
- High School diploma or GED.
- Experience operating a lift truck is preferred.
- Successfully completed training programs for powered industrial trucks.
Skills
- Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating instructions, factory orders, and procedure manuals.
- Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
- Strong communication skills.
- Basic math skills: addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division in English and Metric systems.
- Ability to read English and Metric tape measures.
- Problem-solving skills to handle practical issues with limited standardization.
- Ability to interpret instructions in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
