ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Affords assistance to the operations of the Claims Administration department.
- Handles and processes incoming claims and claims-related correspondence efficiently and promptly, adhering to departmental procedures.
- Performs scanning and data validation and correction of paper claims documentation to ensure accuracy of OCR data.
- Carries out manual entry of submitted claims data as necessary.
- Effectively prioritizes and completes assigned tasks within appropriate timeframes and with the required level of quality.
- Participates actively in team meetings, contributing ideas and suggestions to enhance departmental efficiency and quality, and foster teamwork.
- Maintains compliance with privacy and confidentiality standards.
- Maintains or surpasses all established standards for performance, quality, and timeliness.
- Supports the Claims department in reviewing, investigating, and researching claims documentation issues.
- Demonstrates ethical business practices and personal actions that align with Health System and Health Plan policies and procedures.
- Assists with other related work responsibilities as requested.
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
- Any combination of education and experience that would likely provide the required knowledge, skills, and abilities is qualifying.
- One year certification from college or technical school, or one-year related experience and/or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Minimum High school graduate or GED required.
