Claim Technician

About the role

Under supervision, this position is responsible for processing complex claims requiring further investigation, including coordination of benefits and resolving pended claims.

Responsibilities

• Process complex medical claims that require additional investigation.
• Handle coordination of benefits (COB) for claims.
• Resolve pended claims efficiently.

Requirements

• High School diploma or GED.
• Data entry and/or typing experience.
• Clear and concise written and verbal communication skills.
• Experience processing medical claims.

Preferred Qualifications

• Ability to take and meet testing criteria (referral preference given).
• Trained on the six-to-eight-week Blue Chip claims processing system or ability to complete the full six-to-eight-week Blue Chip training class.
• Knowledge of medical terminology and CPT, HCPCS, and ICD-9 coding.
• Understanding of coordination of benefits principles and terminology.
• Experience with multitasking and prioritizing tasks.

Schedule

This role will start onsite in our Nashville office. After approximately 8 weeks, the role will transition to primarily work-from-home with periodic in-office training or duties as business needs dictate. The work schedule will primarily fall within Monday–Friday, 8 AM–5 PM.

Pay

Compensation range: $17.75 – $26.17 per hour. Exact compensation may vary based on skills, experience, and location.
