Claims Specialist Int

Progressive is dedicated to helping employees move forward and live fully in their careers. As a claims specialist, you’ll play a critical role managing attorney-represented bodily injury (BI) claims. An ideal candidate will have experience managing an inventory independently, assessing and evaluating liability, coverage, and damages, as well as working independently and directly with attorneys to negotiate and settle claims. This is a hybrid role—you’ll report to an office about four days per month for meetings, training, and collaboration, with the option to work in-office more frequently if preferred.

Responsibilities

• Determines coverage and liability
• Negotiate with claimants or their attorneys
• Settle claims and set reserves
• Estimates cost of treatment or compensation for those injured in accidents
• Analyze and interpret medical reports, follow-up with no-fault parties, and manage claims process to ensure efficient resolution
• Interview, collect, and document information from claimants, agents/brokers, attorneys, and police

Requirements

• Four years of relevant work experience with one year in claims handling OR
• Associate's degree and three years relevant work experience with one year in claims handling OR
• Bachelor's degree and one year in claims handling
• Valid driver's license and auto insurance

Preferred Skills

• Auto and/or commercial insurance experience
• Experience handling injury claims

Pay

Salary range: $63,100 – $81,600/year, commensurate with experience and based on geographical location. Gainshare annual cash incentive payment up to 16% of eligible earnings based on company performance.
