Claims Representative (IAP) -Workers Compensation Training Program

As a Claims Representative (IAP) in our Workers Compensation Training Program, you’ll begin with a comprehensive 4-week concept-based learning and professional training program, followed by dedicated onboarding before entering the on-the-job phase. You’ll be assigned a mentor and manager to support your career journey while developing foundational skills for a successful career in claims adjusting. The next class starts on 10/12/26.

Responsibilities

• Attend and complete the designated claims professional training program.
• Adjust various levels of workers’ compensation claims under close supervision, including:
  • Processing and responding to incoming mail, emails, and other claim-related documents.
  • Communicating effectively with injured workers, insureds/employers, medical providers, attorneys, and carrier representatives via phone, video conference, and email.
  • Thoroughly investigating new and existing claims by gathering medical records, employer reports, and witness statements.
  • Investigating employer/employee relationships, policy verification, coverage, subrogation issues, and fraud indicators.
  • Determining coverage, compensability, and appropriate benefits in accordance with jurisdictional guidelines and carrier program requirements.
  • Documenting claims files, coding claim activity, and preparing detailed reports.
  • Administering claim benefits (indemnity and medical) while maintaining calendared action items to ensure state compliance.
• Participate in virtual and/or in-person meetings, claim reviews, and business functions for educational training and claim discussions.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED (Bachelor’s degree preferred).
• 2 years of customer service experience and/or a combination of education and experience.
• Strong communication skills, empathy, accountability, and structured thinking.
• Ability to multitask, learn quickly, collaborate in a team, and meet deadlines.

Pay

For the jurisdiction noted in this job posting, the starting pay for this role is $25.65/hour.
