Job Summary
The Claims Recovery Bookkeeper works under moderate supervision to provide bookkeeping support.
Job Responsibilities
- Performs general bookkeeping duties.
- Receives payments and regularly reconciles monies received.
- Accounts for financial transactions and disbursements.
- Processes high volume of disbursements in a timely and accurate manner.
- Data entry into a custom database.
- Maintains historical records by filing documents and/or tracking information electronically.
- Serves as liaison between claims recovery practice group and accounting department.
- Develops and standardizes processes and procedures; proactively looks for process improvement.
- Effectively works with large team to gather relevant information.
- Occasionally attends conferences (when requested) that are sponsored by the department.
- Participates as needed in special department projects.
- Participates in training sessions regarding best practices and how to handle new projects.
Knowledge, Skills And Abilities
- Ability to maintain strict confidentiality regarding office data.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate clearly and effectively, both orally and in writing with internal and external contacts.
- Demonstrated working knowledge of Windows and MS suite of products such as Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
- Must possess a thorough command of the English language including excellent spelling, grammar and punctuation.
- Demonstrates ability to work effectively both independently and with others in a cooperative, enthusiastic, innovative, and friendly manner to accomplish position functions and participate in team efforts.
- Demonstrates ability to adapt to changing priorities, to maintain a productive and committed work effort, and to deal with difficult situations and/or individuals, meeting deadlines and managing workload.
- Ability to accurately type 50+ words per minute.
- Ability to work overtime hours as requested.
Education
- The position requires a minimum High School Diploma or GED.
- Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
- Equivalent training and experience may substitute for education.
Experience
- The position requires a minimum of two years of corporate and/or administrative experience during which knowledge, skills and abilities applicable to the position were demonstrated.
- Additional education may be considered in lieu of some work experience.
Pay
US Pay Range $66,000—$87,000 USD
Our Firm is committed to fair and equitable compensation practice in accordance with applicable laws. Additional compensation may include a discretionary bonus.
The salary for this position may vary based on location, market data, an applicant’s skills and prior experience, certain degrees and certifications, and other factors.
