Claims - Material Damage Auto Appraiser III
About the role
The Cincinnati Insurance Companies are seeking a Material Damage Auto Appraiser in the State of Massachusetts. This is a full-time position responsible for all aspects of the damage appraisal process, auto reinspections, and auto total loss valuations in the state of Massachusetts and surrounding areas as needed.
Responsibilities
- Conduct in-person inspections of vehicle damage as part of the claim adjustment process
- Complete auto damage appraisals and reinspection's according to State regulations
- Perform total loss analysis and obtain market valuations
- Serve as a technical resource to associates as it pertains to vehicle repair, alternative parts utilization, and total loss conditioning
- Occasionally complete quality assurance audits on staff-adjuster auto repair appraisals
Requirements
- MA Appraisers license and certification
- Valid driver’s license
- Minimum of 3 years of auto repair estimating experience
- Proficient in the use of auto repair estimating software
- PREFERRED but not required: Minimum of 2 years of claims department experience
- I-CAR, ASE, and technical school training
- Use of Microsoft Office products including PowerPoint, Word and Excel
- Expertise in auto nomenclature, design, technology, construction, damage analysis and repair techniques for body panels and unibody/frames
- Negotiating skills
- Analytical skills
- Detail oriented
- Effective verbal and written communication skills
Qualifications
- Ability to provide prompt, personal, claim service
- Able to work independently in a fast-paced environment while meeting and maintaining predetermined service levels
- Willingness to adapt to change and new responsibilities as they become needed

Pay and Schedule
The pay range for this position is $75,000-$95,000 annually. The pay determination is based on the applicant’s education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities. Eligible associates may also receive an annual cash bonus and individual performance.
