About the role
Golden State Claims Adjusters is seeking a Claims Manager to lead a team of supervisors and adjusters. Reporting to the Senior Vice President of Claims, the Claims Manager oversees regulatory compliance, operational efficiency, and customer experience. Key responsibilities include managing a team, reviewing claim files, conducting claim conferences, and presenting operational results.
Responsibilities
- Manage multiple supervisors and adjusters, overseeing their hiring, training, and performance
- Provide leadership and mentorship to adjusters and supervisors, fostering engagement, accountability, and professional development
- Review and assign new claim files based on adjuster experience and workload
- Place supervisory notes in claim files and conduct claim conferences with adjusters, carriers, and vendors
- Ensure accuracy and compliance in coverage evaluations, reserves, and payments
- Participate in task forces and committees focused on continuous improvement and operational effectiveness
- Conduct training seminars and workshops for employees
- Carry key claim files and conduct internal audits
- Identify and report NHP claims and adverse trends
- Present claim files and operational results at leadership meetings
- Support department procedures, workflows, metrics, and KPIs
- Support audit compliance and staffing needs
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent claims management experience
- 10+ years of insurance claims experience, 5+ years of claims management experience
- Licensed as a Qualified Claims Manager in California
- Strong understanding of California claims regulations, multi-jurisdictional experience preferred
- Experience in construction liability, construction defect, GL/PD, GL/BI, Excess, high-level coverage evaluation
- NYLL, Energy, Environmental, Transportation experience a plus
