Claims Auditing Subject Matter Expert | AI Evaluation Specialist (On-Call)
About the role
Volga Partners is seeking experienced finance, audit, insurance, compliance, and legal professionals to join our growing network of on-call AI Evaluation Specialists supporting the development, training, and evaluation of next-generation artificial intelligence models. We're looking for professionals with real-world expertise who can evaluate AI-generated responses, apply critical thinking, and provide high-quality feedback within their area of specialization.
Responsibilities
- Create and review finance, audit, insurance, compliance, and legal-related prompts, scenarios, and analytical tasks.
- Evaluate AI-generated responses for factual accuracy, reasoning quality, and business relevance.
- Apply your professional expertise to improve AI model performance.
- Review analyses, assumptions, calculations, documentation, and recommendations.
- Identify inaccuracies, inconsistencies, logical gaps, and opportunities for improvement.
- Provide structured written feedback and quality assessments.
- Collaborate with project teams to maintain high-quality deliverables.
- Meet established productivity, quality, and turnaround expectations.

Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business, Mathematics, Statistics, Law, Insurance, Risk Management, or a related field.
- Minimum 4 years of professional experience within one or more of the listed finance, audit, insurance, compliance, legal, or risk disciplines.
- Strong analytical and critical-thinking skills.
- Excellent written English communication skills.
- Ability to evaluate complex business, financial, audit, compliance, insurance, or legal concepts and clearly explain your reasoning.
- Reliable internet connection.
- Ability to work independently in a remote environment.
Preferred credentials include CFA Charterholder or CFA Candidate, CPA, ACCA, ACA, CMA, CIA, CISA, MBA (Finance), JD, M.Com or equivalent professional credentials.
Experience in one or more of the following is preferred: Financial Modeling, Valuation, Investment Analysis, Forecasting, Auditing, Insurance Compliance, Risk Management, Legal Analysis, Reviewing technical reports or research, AI evaluation, machine learning, or data annotation projects.
Compensation & Engagement
- $35.00–$42.00 USD per hour (depending on qualifications and project)
- Fully Remote
- Flexible Schedule
- On-call assignments with 0–20 hours per week, depending on project availability
- Temporary Contract Opportunity
- Opportunities to participate in future AI evaluation initiatives
Selection Process
Qualified candidates may be invited to complete a brief project-specific assessment or trial task designed to evaluate their subject matter expertise and analytical reasoning. Successful completion of the assessment may qualify candidates for active paid project assignments. Candidates who are not selected for a particular project may still remain in Volga Partners' talent network and be considered for future opportunities that align with their expertise.
