About the role
The successful candidate will join the Risk Services Claim Practice, contributing industry expertise and strong interpersonal skills to deliver high-quality claim advice and service to clients.
Responsibilities
- Provide claim advice to clients, including evaluating coverage for loss scenarios, advocating for coverage (e.g., authoring responses to adverse coverage positions), and advising clients and internal teams on coverage issues.
- Evaluate claim processes and author solutions for improvement, including negotiating best-in-class claim handling procedures with insurers and third-party claim administrators.
- Participate in formal presentations to prospective and current clients, such as Claim Strategy Meetings, Claim Service Capabilities Presentations, and Claim Kick-off Meetings.
- Develop Claims Reporting Procedures for external clients.
- Create and maintain agreed-upon external Client Service Plans.
- Ensure adherence to Lockton policies, procedures, and standards.
- Deliver customer service as directed.
- Attend Construction Practice meetings, Risk Control Service meetings, educational workshops, and industry/trade meetings.
- Report claims to appropriate insurance carriers accurately and promptly on behalf of Lockton clients.
- Organize, analyze, and present claims/loss data.
- Utilize carrier and TPA online systems to monitor claim progression and deliver reports.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in a business-related program or equivalent education and/or experience required.
- 3–7 years of claim experience with an insurance broker, carrier, or third-party claim administrator.
- Strong knowledge of commercial property/casualty coverages and claims.
- Familiarity with construction claims, contracts, project management, and industry best practices.
- Experience supporting Sr. Claim Consultants with Chapter 558 (Florida Statute) construction defect claims.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft products (Word, Excel, Outlook) or similar software applications.

- Extensive insurance industry knowledge through experience and/or coursework.
- Ability to instill confidence and comfort in external clients, positioning Lockton as a trusted business partner.
- Industry designations (e.g., AIC, CIC, ARM, CRIS, or CPCU) are a plus.
