About the Role

As a Claims Adjuster, you will handle assigned property, casualty, and/or subrogation claims efficiently and accurately. During the Adjuster Trainee period, you will complete Alfa’s Adjuster training and other departmental training to advance to an Adjuster position.

Responsibilities

• Handle all assigned company property, casualty, and/or subrogation claims in an efficient and accurate manner.
• Maintain the company standard of professional claims handling by providing fast, fair claims service with minimal customer complaints.
• Contribute to the company’s financial planning through adequate reserving and expense control.
• Assure control of claimants and insureds to avoid lawsuits.

Qualifications

• 4-year bachelor’s degree OR 2 years as an Adjuster OR 3 years in automobile repair, home/commercial construction, law enforcement, auto/property estimating.
• Computer skills with Excel and Word preferred.
• AIC certification preferred.
• Valid driver’s license and satisfactory driving record.
• Ability to lift and carry approximately 50 pounds (e.g., a ladder).
• Physical agility to ascend/descend stairs/ladders, walk on roofs, crawl under houses/cars, and maneuver over small barriers.
• Ability to sit for long periods for sedentary work (e.g., paperwork and computer tasks).
• Must be able to work in adverse weather conditions and may require extended stays away from home.
