Claim Representative II - Casualty

About the Role

CIG’s claims department supports our insureds throughout their claims process. We work directly with our agency partners and policyholders to accomplish successful claim resolutions. Responsibilities

• Investigate, evaluate, and resolve commercial and personal lines casualty claims.
• Analyze coverage, bodily injuries, negotiate, and work with outside counsel.
• Manage expenses and understand personal and commercial line policies, including issuance of Reservations of Rights.
• Demonstrate superior claim service and produce appropriate claim settlements.
• Understand regulations and jurisdictions involved in the claims being evaluated.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree and three to five years of casualty claim handling experience, or five or more years of casualty claim handling experience.
• Advanced technical training in the insurance claim field and/or recognized insurance designation is preferred.
• Detailed knowledge of Commercial and Personal Lines Auto and General Liability, policy language, and coverages.
• Mathematically proficient with the ability to comprehend charts and graphs.
• Proven ability to comprehend contracts pertaining to relationships amongst insured parties, landlord/tenant, or property management.
• Ability to multi-task and deal with numerous complex problems or issues simultaneously.
• Must be able to travel within assigned territory and maintain a valid driver’s license.

Pay

Salary Range: $58,755.00 - $97,926.00. The range represents potential base salary and may vary based on experience and location. This position may also be eligible for other types of compensation, such as benefits and bonus programs.

Schedule

This is a hybrid-eligible position. Monday through Wednesday are in-office (Bakersfield, CA), with Thursday and Friday eligible for work-from-home.
