Civil Water Wastewater Engineer Intern

About the role

Merrick & Company is seeking a Civil Water Wastewater Engineering student for a paid internship for our San Antonio, Texas office. This temporary internship is a great opportunity for a college or graduate-level Civil Engineering student to contribute to meaningful projects while learning alongside experienced engineers.

Responsibilities

• Exposed to a variety of engineering tasks including wastewater and potable water systems design
• Preparation of drawings and details
• Process models
• Cost estimates
• Operations and maintenance manuals
• Study and design reports
• Other work products
• Collaborating with other disciplines
• Interfacing with clients and contractors
• Following schedules and budget commitments
• Working independently
• Communicating
• Problem solving

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

• Graduation date after August 2027 to be eligible
• Pursuing an engineering degree in Civil Engineering from an ABET accredited program
• Currently enrolled in sophomore year or higher of undergraduate degree or currently enrolled in grad school
• Meet expectations for attendance and punctuality
• Eligible to work in the United States without sponsorship

Desired Qualifications

• Prior internship with Merrick
• Previous internship(s) in Civil Engineering
• Knowledge of AutoCAD Civil3D
• Local candidates preferred
