Civil & Underground Construction Project Manager

About the Role

You will step into a high-impact leadership role with direct access to ownership and the autonomy to drive project success. Managing vital underground utility and site development contracts, you will influence how work gets done without corporate bottlenecks. This position offers a distinct path to expand your leadership footprint as our civil operations continue to expand.

Responsibilities

• Direct all phases of civil and underground utility projects from initial site development through final contract closeout.
• Manage comprehensive project financials, including budgets, schedules, billing support, change orders, and profitability protection.
• Coordinate on-site workflows with superintendents and field crews to ensure strict alignment with project specifications.
• Resolve real-time logistical and technical challenges regarding grading, trenching, paving, and wet utility installations.
• Oversee the precise execution of RFIs, submittals, and contract documentation to maintain clear project transparency.
• Collaborate directly with company ownership to streamline operations, influence methodologies, and drive business expansion.

Requirements

• Proven experience managing underground utility, wet utilities, grading, trenching, and civil coordination projects.
• Proficiency with basic computer systems, such as Google Suite, Microsoft Suite, various apps, etc.
• Demonstrated ability to lead complex civil construction operations from both the office and the field environment.
• Proficiency in managing project management documentation, including RFIs, submittals, change orders, and project billing.
• Strong solutions-oriented leadership mindset with the ability to protect contract profitability independently.
• Absolute willingness to travel up to 40% of working hours to various project locations.
• Valid CA driver's license.

Qualifications

• 5 or more years of dedicated project management experience within the civil or general construction industry (preferred).
• High School Diploma or GED equivalent (preferred).
• Prior experience successfully delivering commercial, government, public works, or federal construction contracts (preferred).
• Bilingual in Spanish (a plus).

Pay

Competitive annual salary ranging from $105,000 to $125,000 based on experience.
