Civil/Structural Forensic Engineer

Job Responsibilities

• Counsels and consults with building departments to determine repair directives.
• Prepares and delivers technical papers.
• Serves as expert witnesses.
• Conducts field observations, testing, and data collection.
• Develops technical topics for publication.
• Maintains client relationships and engages in marketing.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering from an ABET accredited school.
• PE or SE license in California (or ability to obtain one soon).
• 2-7+ years of experience as a forensic engineer.
• Familiarity with modern building codes and industry standards.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Willingness to travel and conduct site inspections.

Preferred Qualifications

• Testimony experience as a designated expert witness (for senior level).
• Experience in engineering design, construction, or damage assessments.
