Job Responsibilities
- Counsels and consults with building departments to determine repair directives.
- Prepares and delivers technical papers.
- Serves as expert witnesses.
- Conducts field observations, testing, and data collection.
- Develops technical topics for publication.
- Maintains client relationships and engages in marketing.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in engineering from an ABET accredited school.
- PE or SE license in California (or ability to obtain one soon).
- 2-7+ years of experience as a forensic engineer.
- Familiarity with modern building codes and industry standards.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Willingness to travel and conduct site inspections.
Preferred Qualifications
- Testimony experience as a designated expert witness (for senior level).
- Experience in engineering design, construction, or damage assessments.
