Civil/Structural Engineering Manager - Electrical Substations (Remote Eligible, U.S.)

Job Description

The Civil/Structural Engineering Manager (People Leader) is responsible for leading a team of civil engineers, overseeing project execution, and ensuring the proper management of interfaces with partners and suppliers. Key responsibilities include guiding project launches, managing design budgets, and ensuring compliance with quality management systems and codes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering from an accredited university
• 15+ years of experience with high voltage substation civil/structural design, including EPC projects
• 5+ years of experience leading a substation civil engineering team
• Professional Engineering License in the United States and willingness to review & seal drawings

Desired Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited university
• 5+ years of experience managing civil engineers, including resource loading, performance reviews, recruiting/hiring, training/development plans, and salary planning
• 15+ years of experience in civil structural design and execution of high-voltage substation EPC projects
• Project Management experience on power systems EPC projects
• Experience in technical problem solving and mastering of involved discipline
• Background in Substation 3D design including BIM (Revit) models
• Experience in technical problem solving and demonstrating technical mastery with detailed knowledge of theoretical and practical applications in civil and structural engineering related to high voltage electrical substations
