About the role
We are seeking a creative and commercially aware Civil/Structural Project Engineer to join our team. In this role, you will work on a variety of multi-discipline projects, assisting in the preparation of design packages and ensuring they meet project goals. Industries served include compressor stations, meter stations, transmission sites, truck loading facilities, and similar.
Responsibilities
- Assist in the preparation of complete design packages for multi-discipline projects under the supervision of Project Managers and/or Senior Engineers
- Prepare calculations and perform detailed analysis
- Participate in planning and designing structures and facilities
- Review design drawings and incorporate basic design corrections
- Evaluate, select, and apply standard engineering techniques, procedures, and criteria
- Prepare written documents such as specifications and reports
- Initiate discussions within the project team to arrive at design solutions that provide the best value for a limited construction cost
- Maintain awareness of safety hazards in the field
Requirements
- Bachelor of Science Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering (course emphasis in Structural Engineering is preferred) from an ABET accredited college or university
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in a similar role
- Engineer-In-Training (EIT) required; Professional Engineer (PE) license in Texas preferred, with preference for candidates licensed in multiple states
- Current and updated NCEES Record, and willingness to obtain new state PE licenses
- Committed to continuing education and self-development
- Exposure in structural steel, reinforced concrete, and foundation design for buildings, equipment platforms, pipe racks/supports, and miscellaneous structures
- Familiar with site grading and drainage
- Knowledgeable of ACI 318, AISC, ASCE 7 codes and/or PIP standards
- Experience working in a multi-discipline team environment
- Exposure to and willingness to learn structural engineering software such as RISA, STAAD, Dimensional Solutions, etc.
- Exposure to working in a 3D project environment (e.g., Navisworks)
