Responsibilities

  • Perform a wide range of drafting tasks.
  • Revise existing drawings as required and correct “As Built” drawings.
  • Consistently meet deadlines while producing accurate documents.
  • Conceptualize, design and communicate successfully in CAD using current industry best practices.
  • Maintain and organize accurate design and drawing archives and revision history.
  • Draft Schematics (in AutoCAD), layouts, and other diagrams to support engineers on projects.
  • Be a subject matter expert in building codes, federal transportation regulations, development of details and the organization of construction documents.
  • Provide guidance and instructions to technicians and designers.
  • Understand company drafting quality process and check.
  • Compute moderate calculations under the direction of a designer or engineer.

Requirements

  • A.A.S. Degree in Structural/Civil drafting and design or relevant background
  • Minimum of 4 years of relevant experience
  • Previous discipline focused experience preferred
  • Oil and gas industry experience preferred
  • Have a full understanding of 2D and 3D CAD software, preferably AutoDesk.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office and some database knowledge.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong leadership skills to work and lead a team to ensure projects are accurate and completed on time
  • Must have good mathematical background to handle common calculations.
  • Willing to learn new skills and work as a team to meet deadlines.
  • Advanced skillset in Autodesk 3D products (Revit, Civil 3D, CADworx, Navisworks, etc.).
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office and Bluebeam.
  • Verifiable Structural Steel 3D modeling and detailing experience.
  • Strong Structural Steel design and fabrication knowledge including 3D Model creation to create automated fabrication drawings, BOM production and fabrication documentation.
  • Civil site and grading design experience.
  • Survey data processing experience

Physical Requirements and Demands

  • The job requires the ability to sit for extended periods at a computer workstation.
  • Routinely use standard office equipment such as but not limited to: computers, phones, copiers, and filing cabinets.
  • The employee is frequently required to stand, talk, and hear.
  • Frequent periods of standing for extended periods.
  • Occasional lifting of up to 50 pounds.
  • Exposure to weather including hot and cold climates.
  • Ability to work long hours when projects demand.
