6–9 month contract position in Oak Harbor, OH.

Responsibilities

  • Perform structural engineering duties in the design, analysis, and preparation of calculations, drawings, and specifications for concrete and steel projects.
  • Prepare structural designs and modifications of industrial structures and systems for one or multiple assigned projects.
  • Interface with customers, suppliers, and construction teams throughout all phases of planning, design, and construction.
  • Independently evaluate, select, and apply standard engineering techniques, procedures, and criteria, making minor adaptations and modifications as needed.
  • Prepare conceptual and detailed design sketches, engineering calculations, construction drawings, and specifications.
  • Coordinate with multiple disciplines to develop plans, elevations, and basis of design documents to guide construction.
  • Apply structural engineering technical principles, theories, standards, and concepts in the development of engineering design packages.
  • Consider construction costs, government regulations, potential environmental hazards, and other factors during planning and risk analysis.
  • Understand and apply applicable building codes and industry-specific standards, including local, state, and international codes.
  • Specify building materials such as concrete and steel for projects and review supplier submittals and third-party laboratory test reports.
  • Present technical information to peers or other personnel for review, standards implementation, or operating procedures.
  • Provide material take-offs and cost estimates for materials, labor, and engineering to determine project economic feasibility.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from an accredited university.
  • Minimum 10 years of structural steel and concrete engineering experience.
  • Engineer in Training (EIT) certification and working toward Professional Engineer (PE) licensure.
  • Proficiency with engineering and computer software: MS Office, AutoCAD, 2D/3D CAD, BlueBeam, RISA, NavisWorks, STAAD, SPMats, Enercalc.
  • Experience with large power generation and industrial projects.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills.
  • Must possess permanent authorization to work in the USA for any employer without sponsorship, now or in the future.
