6–9 month contract position in Oak Harbor, OH.
Responsibilities
- Perform structural engineering duties in the design, analysis, and preparation of calculations, drawings, and specifications for concrete and steel projects.
- Prepare structural designs and modifications of industrial structures and systems for one or multiple assigned projects.
- Interface with customers, suppliers, and construction teams throughout all phases of planning, design, and construction.
- Independently evaluate, select, and apply standard engineering techniques, procedures, and criteria, making minor adaptations and modifications as needed.
- Prepare conceptual and detailed design sketches, engineering calculations, construction drawings, and specifications.
- Coordinate with multiple disciplines to develop plans, elevations, and basis of design documents to guide construction.
- Apply structural engineering technical principles, theories, standards, and concepts in the development of engineering design packages.
- Consider construction costs, government regulations, potential environmental hazards, and other factors during planning and risk analysis.
- Understand and apply applicable building codes and industry-specific standards, including local, state, and international codes.
- Specify building materials such as concrete and steel for projects and review supplier submittals and third-party laboratory test reports.
- Present technical information to peers or other personnel for review, standards implementation, or operating procedures.
- Provide material take-offs and cost estimates for materials, labor, and engineering to determine project economic feasibility.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from an accredited university.
- Minimum 10 years of structural steel and concrete engineering experience.
- Engineer in Training (EIT) certification and working toward Professional Engineer (PE) licensure.
- Proficiency with engineering and computer software: MS Office, AutoCAD, 2D/3D CAD, BlueBeam, RISA, NavisWorks, STAAD, SPMats, Enercalc.
- Experience with large power generation and industrial projects.
- Excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills.
- Must possess permanent authorization to work in the USA for any employer without sponsorship, now or in the future.
