Civil Sr Designer

Responsibilities

• Layout and Design residential subdivisions, mixed-use developments, commercial/retail projects, etc.
• Design work will include, but not limited to, paving, grading, drainage, water, and sewer design.
• May assign the final drafting/plan production to other drafters or draft/generate or may draft/generate the plans for oneself.
• Prepares engineering calculations in support of infrastructure design.
• Reviews and applies design standards established by all agencies involved in each project.
• Able to work within the scope, schedule, and budget assigned to each project.
• Prepare hour estimates in support of project pursuits.
• Manage and mentor designers or drafters.
• Assign designers or drafters work, answer questions, mentor, and check for quality and accuracy as needed.

Requirements

• 10+ years of experience in design and plan production for residential and commercial land development projects.
• Expert in the latest AutoCAD Civil 3D design and plan production tools.
• Highly proficient in grading/surfaces, including corridors, feature lines, etc.
• Must be able to use Microsoft Office 365, including familiarity with Teams.
• Able to interact and effectively communicate, both verbally and written, with team and clients.
• Strong land development-related Civil 3D modeling.
• Detail-oriented, professional attitude, team player, and self-starter.
• Able to work independently and in a team environment to prioritize various projects.
• Flexibility to work outside of normal business hours, if required.
