About the role

We are excited to hire an engineer that embodies the entrepreneurial spirit GPD is founded on in our Houston, TX office. This engineer will share a passion for mentoring and developing while leading project designs with our clients in the K-12 Education/Public Buildings, Healthcare, Retail, and Federal industries.

Requirements

• Civil Project Design Engineer with 10+ years of experience in the field of Retail/Commercial, Educational (PK-12 and Higher Ed.), Public Buildings, Healthcare, and Federal.
• PE License required.
• Experienced in Site Development design.
• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering.
• Proficiency in design software to develop the design deliverables. Must be knowledgeable with Civil 3-D and/or AutoCAD.
• Proficient with stormwater modeling and management.
• Technical understanding of design standards.
• Thrives in a work environment where one collaborates with other team members (Project Managers, Engineers, and Designers) in a multi-discipline project team environment to resolve appropriate design or drawing issues and accomplish objectives.
• Must possess excellent communication skills, professional writing skills and the ability to multi-task between several projects and priorities at one time.
• Candidate should be proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
• Some travel may be required for construction administration.
• Valid Driver’s License is required.

Responsibilities

• Project lead design engineer for site planning and coordination.
• Grading and storm water management design.
• Design coordination with internal engineers and architects.
• Background coordination with internal team of surveyors, environmental specialists, and geotechnical crew.
