Civil Project Engineer - Land Development

Key Responsibilities

  • Produce and manage site design packages including grading, drainage, utilities, stormwater management, paving and erosion control
  • Prepare construction plans, details, specifications and cost estimates in Civil 3D
  • Complete stormwater and hydrologic and hydraulic calculations and design
  • Prepare and manage permit applications and coordinate with municipalities, county agencies and EGLE
  • Coverage with project managers on scope, schedule and budget tracking
  • Mentor and review the work of junior engineers and designers
  • Provide construction phase support including RFIs, submittals and field observation

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related discipline
  • Around 5+ years of civil and site design experience
  • Michigan PE preferred, or EIT with a clear path to licensure
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D
  • Solid grounding in Michigan permitting and agency review processes
  • Land development, commercial, industrial or municipal site experience all considered

Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related discipline
  • Experience: Around 5+ years of civil and site design experience
  • Licenses: Michigan PE preferred, or EIT with a clear path to licensure
  • Software: Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D
  • Knowledge: Solid grounding in Michigan permitting and agency review processes

  • Strong technical skills in Civil 3D
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines

Pay

$80,000 - $130,000 base depending on experience
