Job Description

The purpose of this position is to support the design, estimating, and execution of civil scopes for solar and industrial projects. Responsibilities include supporting civil preliminary analysis and estimating, assisting with grading heat maps and conceptual site optimization, supporting pricing by gathering vendor and subcontractor quotes, assisting with review and validation of subcontractor proposals, assisting in preparation of bid packages and project proposals, supporting civil design internally and externally, reviewing drawings and project documentation, reviewing geotechnical reports and incorporating findings into design recommendations, assisting in development of grading plans, cut/fill evaluations, and constructability reviews, reviewing customer specifications, assisting with coordination of RFIs and submittals, reviewing material specifications, generating material takeoffs, supporting civil construction activities, assisting with generation and review of CAD models and drawings using AutoCAD and Civil 3D, performing civil takeoffs including earthwork, roads, drainage, and site prep, collaborating with operations to support construction execution, assisting with development and verification of grading files, assisting with the development and verification of pile/equipment coordinate files, supporting surveying, staking layouts, and site setup, providing technical guidance to field crews, traveling to sites to support and coordinate with project and construction teams for successful project execution, fostering key strategic relationships with various partners, and ongoing integration and gain of technical knowledge to further establish self as a reliable source of information to the engineering team.

Qualifications

  • 3-5 years’ experience in Civil Engineering or civil construction execution, including experience in proper design and constructability.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or equivalent education/experience.
  • Good communication skills and a positive attitude.
  • Experience in using or a desire to learn the required software - AutoCAD, Civil 3D, similar.
  • Knowledge of applicable civil practices - materials, SWPPP, Geotech, grading files, surveying.
  • Self-motivated and flexible to accommodate changes in KE business strategies.
  • Entrepreneurial approach to problem solving and accountability for project decisions and actions.
  • Possess and maintain a valid driver’s license that represents a history of safe & competent driving.
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screen and criminal background check.
