About the role

Garver is seeking a Civil Project Engineer to join our growing team in Frisco, TX, contributing to quality service for our clients.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate design with other disciplines and subconsultants.
  • Communicate with the project manager on deliverables, schedules, and budgets.
  • Prepare design schematics in collaboration with environmental task leaders and other team members, consistent with the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA).
  • Prepare plans, specifications, cost estimates, reports, and calculations necessary for a complete deliverable package to the client.
  • Interact with the client, including preparing communications and other documentation.
  • Mentor and train younger engineers on roadway design.
  • Serve as a Quality Assurance/Quality Control (QA/QC) Subject Matter Expert (SME) for reviewing deliverables.
  • Support the Project Manager during Bid Phase and Construction, including answering Requests for Information (RFI), reviewing project submittals from the contractor, preparing addenda and plan revisions.
  • Assist the Business Team Leader and Project Manager with marketing efforts, including proposal writing, client interaction, and public engagements.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering or Civil Engineering Technology from an ABET accredited program.
  • Registered Professional Engineer (PE) in Texas or ability to obtain license through reciprocity.
  • Professional interpersonal and leadership skills, including a willingness to learn and be coached by a mentor.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Five (5) to ten (10) years of relevant site civil design experience.
  • Ability to lead a design team to meet a deliverable schedule within a defined budget.
  • MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) proficiency.

Skills

  • Previous experience working with design software packages such as AutoCAD and Civil 3D.
  • Bentley OpenRoads Designer proficiency.
  • Experience in preparing fee proposal hour estimates.
