Civil Project Engineer | Anaheim, CA

Principal Responsibilities

  • Lead design efforts for civil site projects across commercial, residential, industrial, and similar project types
  • Use engineering software and tools to develop designs, specifications, and calculations in accordance with code requirements and IMEG standards
  • Complete and oversee permit applications in coordination with the team, client, and reviewing jurisdictions
  • Perform surface modeling, watershed modeling, storm sewer design, and sanitary sewer design
  • Support projects through bidding and construction administration phases
  • Interact with clients to understand project needs, gather requirements, communicate technical information, and maintain strong professional relationships
  • Support project planning, budgeting, and scheduling efforts to meet deadlines and objectives
  • Document design decisions, client instructions, project progress, and fee expenditure
  • Analyze engineering problems and collaborate with senior engineers and consultants to develop practical, efficient solutions
  • Apply state and local design criteria, prioritize safety and regulatory compliance, coordinate with multidisciplinary teams, and identify issues requiring Project Manager guidance

Required Qualifications and Skills

  • Bachelor of Science (BS) Degree in Civil Engineering, or equivalent required
  • Professional Engineer (PE) License required, 2 years of experience minimum required, 4 preferred, in the Civil Engineering and Construction Industry
  • Proficiency in design techniques, tools, and concepts involved in the production of technical plans and specifications
  • Strong technical and analytical skills in the civil engineering field
  • Ability to train and mentor less experienced staff
  • Ability to lead teams with others that utilize industry standard software that assists with civil engineering analysis and design
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; Ability to clearly communicate in both oral and written communication to individuals or groups
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
  • Attention to detail and problem-solving skills
  • Eagerness to adapt to new challenges
  • Proficient with MS Office Suite including but not limited to Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Ability to travel up to 10% with occasional overnight stays

Pay

The salary range for this position is $101,000 – $134,000, with individual pay based on experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities. Individual pay may vary based on location.
