Principal Responsibilities
- Direct and train Civil Design Technicians to assist them in completing reports, exhibits, plans and specifications and permit applications as required by the project’s contractual scope
- Lead design efforts for the analysis of civil site design projects for commercial, residential, industrial projects etc.; utilize engineering software and tools to create detailed designs, specifications, and calculations according to code requirements and IMEG standards
- Prepare and support site drainage, grading, and stormwater design work as required by project scope
- Complete and oversee permit applications for a variety of municipalities in coordination with the team, Client, and reviewing jurisdiction
- Perform engineering analysis, field inspections, and technical documentation to support project delivery
- Write reports and maintain clear project records to support internal and client needs
- Oversee projects through bidding and construction administration phase
- Interact with clients to understand their needs, gather project requirements, and communicate technical information effectively; build and maintain client relationships through professional communication
Required Qualifications And Skills
- Bachelor of Science (BS) Degree in Civil Engineering, or equivalent required
- Engineer-In-Training (EIT) certification preferred
- 3 years of experience minimum required, or equivalent required
- Engineer-In-Training (EIT) certification preferred
- 4 years of experience minimum required, 8 preferred, in the building design consulting or construction industry
- Knowledge of industry standard engineering software, primarily Civil 3D
- Proficient with pipe networking and road corridors
- Proficiency in design techniques, tools, and concepts involved in the production of technical plans and specifications
- Strong technical and analytical skills including proficiency of principles in the civil engineering field
- Able to train and mentor less experienced staff
- Able to lead teams with others that utilize industry standard software that assists with civil engineering analysis and design
- Able to clearly communicate in both oral and written communication to individuals or groups
- Able to work collaboratively in a team environment

- Able to travel up to 10% with occasional overnight stays
