Civil Litigator

A respected and growing California-based law firm is seeking an experienced Senior Litigation Attorney to join its dynamic litigation team. The firm represents a diverse range of clients, including businesses, property owners, nonprofit organizations, insurers, and other entities throughout California. Attorneys handle a broad spectrum of civil litigation matters, including premises liability, personal injury, general liability, business disputes, employment matters, professional liability claims, and estate-related litigation.
Qualifications
- Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.
- Active membership in the California State Bar in good standing.
- 3-8 years of experience in civil litigation or insurance defense.
- Strong knowledge of personal injury, premises liability, and general civil litigation.
- Excellent legal research, analytical, writing, and oral advocacy skills.
- Ability to independently manage multiple litigation matters while maintaining strong attention to detail.
- Exceptional organizational, communication, and client relationship management skills.
Responsibilities
- Manage a caseload of civil litigation matters from inception through resolution.
- Develop case strategy and provide legal analysis throughout all phases of litigation.
- Draft pleadings, motions, discovery requests and responses, legal memoranda, and other litigation-related documents.
- Conduct legal research and prepare persuasive written advocacy.
- Handle depositions, mediations, settlement negotiations, court appearances, and hearings.
- Collaborate with attorneys, paralegals, and support staff to ensure efficient case progression.
- Communicate regularly with clients, insurance representatives, opposing counsel, and experts regarding case strategy and developments.
- Prepare cases for trial, including discovery management, witness preparation, and exhibit organization.
- Maintain compliance with court deadlines while effectively managing multiple active matters.
Location & Schedule
Irvine, CA, 92614. This is an on-site, full-time position with a billable hours requirement of 1,600 annually.
