About the role

The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work on a broad range of cases, representing clients in both New Jersey and Pennsylvania. The role will involve extensive courtroom appearances, motion practice, and depositions.

Responsibilities

  • Representing clients in all stages of civil litigation, including pre-litigation, discovery, motions, trials, appeals, and settlements.
  • Developing and implementing litigation strategies for complex civil litigation cases.
  • Conducting and defending depositions.
  • Representing clients in court, including making oral arguments and presenting evidence.
  • Drafting and arguing motions, including motions to dismiss, motions for summary judgment, and motions in limine.
  • Interpreting laws, rulings, and regulations for individuals and businesses.
  • Negotiating settlements on behalf of clients.
  • Collaborating with other attorneys, paralegals, and support staff to ensure effective case management.
  • Maintaining professional growth and development through seminars, workshops, and professional affiliations to keep abreast of latest developments in law and in the specific area of practice.

Requirements

  • A Juris Doctorate from an accredited law school.
  • Admission to the New Jersey Bar and Pennsylvania Bar.
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in civil litigation defense.
  • Experience in insurance defense and commercial litigation.
  • Proven track record of success in the courtroom, including trial experience.
  • Extensive knowledge of civil procedure and federal court rules.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
  • High degree of professional ethics and integrity.
  • Experience with electronic legal research tools and legal databases.
  • Strong negotiation skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Pay

$120,000 - $180,000 per year
