Responsibilities
- Representing and advising clients in courts, before government agencies, and in private legal matters.
- Conducting legal research and gathering evidence to formulate defense strategies.
- Preparing and drafting legal documents such as pleadings, discovery, motions, briefs, contracts, and other legal documents.
- Interpreting laws, rulings, and regulations for individuals and businesses.
- Presenting and summarizing cases to judges and juries.
- Evaluating findings and developing strategies and arguments in preparation for presentation of cases.
- Negotiating settlements of civil disputes.
- Supervising legal assistants and paralegals, and working collaboratively with the legal team.
- Maintaining knowledge of current legislation, court decisions, and industry trends to ensure the firm's compliance and competitive position.
Qualifications
- A Juris Doctorate from an accredited law school.
- Admission to the state bar and in good standing.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in civil litigation defense, commercial litigation, and corporate law.
- Proven track record of effectively handling complex legal matters and achieving favorable outcomes.
- Exceptional legal research and writing skills.
- Excellent negotiation and communication skills.
- Proficient in legal research tools and software.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen attention to detail.
- Experience managing legal assistants and paralegals.
- Knowledge of legal liability and principles of risk management.
Pay
$150,000 - $200,000 per year
