About the role
Our boutique legal client in Irvine, CA represents businesses, property owners, nonprofit organizations, religious institutions, insurers, and other clients throughout California. They handle a diverse range of matters involving estate litigation, premises liability, general liability, business disputes, and other civil litigation matters.
What You'll Do
- Independently manage a caseload from assignment through resolution
- Develop case strategy and work directly with clients and insurance representatives
- Conduct and defend depositions of parties, witnesses, and experts
- Draft and argue motions, pleadings, and other litigation-related filings
- Participate in mediations, settlement conferences, and negotiations
- Prepare cases for trial, including witness preparation, discovery management, and exhibit organization
- Attend court appearances and hearings throughout California
- Collaborate with partners, associates, and support staff to efficiently move cases toward resolution
- Maintain proactive communication with clients, opposing counsel, and team members
Qualifications
- Active California Bar license and good standing
- 5-15 years of civil litigation experience
- Ability to independently manage litigation files and deadlines
- Strong deposition, discovery, motion practice, and case management skills
- Excellent written and oral advocacy skills
- Strong organizational skills and sound professional judgment
Preferred Experience
- Trial preparation and courtroom experience preferred
