Key Responsibilities
- Manage all aspects of civil litigation, including case strategy, discovery, depositions, motion practice, and settlement negotiations.
- Conduct legal research and draft pleadings, motions, and other court documents.
- Attend hearings, mediations, and arbitrations.
- Communicate effectively with clients, opposing counsel, and court personnel.
- Collaborate with senior attorneys and partners on case strategy and trial preparation.
- Maintain organized case files and meet court deadlines.
- Handle multiple cases with efficiency and attention to detail.
- Provide case evaluations and risk assessments to clients.
- Assist in negotiating settlements and resolving disputes effectively.
- Prepare witnesses and experts for depositions and trial testimony.
- Stay up to date on relevant case law and legal trends affecting practice areas.
- Ensure compliance with court rules, procedures, and ethical obligations.
Qualifications
- Licensed to practice law in Illinois and in good standing with the State Bar.
- 2+ years of civil litigation experience.
- Strong legal research, writing, and analytical skills.
- Experience managing cases from inception to resolution.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team setting.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Trial experience is a plus but not required.
