Civil Litigation Attorney

Responsibilities

• Manage a civil litigation caseload involving architectural and engineering design and product negligence matters
• Draft pleadings, motions, briefs, discovery responses, and other legal documents
• Conduct legal research and provide clear, well-supported analysis
• Handle written discovery, document review, depositions, mediations, and hearings
• Develop case strategies and evaluate liability, damages, and potential exposure
• Communicate effectively with clients, opposing counsel, experts, and other involved parties
• Assist with trial preparation and participate in trials as needed
• Maintain accurate case files, deadlines, and billing records

Qualifications

• Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school
• Active and in good standing with the State Bar of Texas
• Minimum of 2+ years of civil litigation experience
• Combination of insurance defense and general civil litigation experience preferred
• Exceptional legal research, writing, and analytical skills required
• Experience with architectural, engineering, construction, product liability, or professional negligence matters is a plus
• Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple cases and deadlines
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to work independently while contributing to a collaborative legal team
