Responsibilities
- Manage a civil litigation caseload involving architectural and engineering design and product negligence matters
- Draft pleadings, motions, briefs, discovery responses, and other legal documents
- Conduct legal research and provide clear, well-supported analysis
- Handle written discovery, document review, depositions, mediations, and hearings
- Develop case strategies and evaluate liability, damages, and potential exposure
- Communicate effectively with clients, opposing counsel, experts, and other involved parties
- Assist with trial preparation and participate in trials as needed
- Maintain accurate case files, deadlines, and billing records
Qualifications
- Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school
- Active and in good standing with the State Bar of Texas
- Minimum of 2+ years of civil litigation experience
- Combination of insurance defense and general civil litigation experience preferred
- Exceptional legal research, writing, and analytical skills required
- Experience with architectural, engineering, construction, product liability, or professional negligence matters is a plus
- Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple cases and deadlines
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work independently while contributing to a collaborative legal team
