Salary: $150,000 - $225,000 per year A bit about us: We are a Phoenix litigation boutique founded in 2008 by an AV rated trial lawyer with more than 20 jury trials under her belt. A substantial part of our practice is defending governmental entities and public employees in state and federal court: Section 1983 civil rights claims, excessive force, unlawful search and seizure, deficient road design, negligent vehicle operation, inverse condemnation, nuisance and flood claims. We also handle commercial litigation, accident and injury matters, and professional liability defense. Our founder is listed in Best Lawyers in America and Southwest Super Lawyers, previously chaired DRI's Governmental Liability Committee, and has taught deposition skills for the National Institute for Trial Advocacy. We win a lot of cases on summary judgment, and when a case needs to be tried, we try it. Why join us? You'll work directly with the founder, draft dispositive motions that actually decide cases, take and defend depositions, and see the inside of a courtroom. No government liability background? That's fine. If you have solid civil litigation experience and want to learn a specialized, in demand defense practice, we will teach you. Hybrid schedule, a reasonable 1,700 hour billable target, and pay that competes with much larger firms. Job Details Active license in good standing with the State Bar of Arizona 2+ years of civil litigation experience (defense side a plus, not required) Hands on experience with written discovery, motion practice, and depositions Interest in learning governmental and public entity liability, including Section 1983 civil rights defense Strong legal research and writing skills, especially summary judgment briefing Sound judgment, clear communication with clients, and comfort working closely with a small team Self starter who can manage a caseload independently in a hybrid setting Billable hour target: 1,700 Salary: $150,000 to $225,000 per year.
