Job Summary

We’re looking for a Civil Engineering Intern to join our Mason & Hanger team. The Civil Intern will assist the Civil Department by incorporating markup on drawings into CAD/BIM platforms, assist in computer-aided site modeling, provide assistance with engineering calculations, and any other supporting tasks to support engineers and designers.

Responsibilities

  • Perform design calculations under the supervision of engineers.
  • Incorporate marked-up drawings into CAD/Civil3D/OpenSite Designer platforms.
  • Assist in cost estimate preparation.
  • Assist in the assembly of project submittals.
  • Comply with data protection principles while handling personal, protected, and/or Covered Defense Information on behalf of Day & Zimmermann.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Currently enrolled in college.
  • U.S. citizenship is required for this position due to the nature of the work and applicable federal contract requirements.

  • Successful completion of drug and background screening process.

  • Ability to read complex documents in the English language.
  • Capacity to reason and make sound decisions.
  • Ability to write complex documents in the English language.
  • Capacity to express thoughts orally.
  • Expertise in Excel, Word, PowerPoint, CAD/BIM.
  • Ability to regularly perform all job functions at the Company’s office or worksite.

Compensation

In compliance with this state’s pay transparency laws, the wage range for this role is $17.75 – $19.75 per hour. This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as the final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location.
