Requirements

The Civil Foreman leads a crew in performing specific civil construction tasks such as trenching, grading, concrete work, and access road construction. This role is responsible for hands-on execution and direct oversight of assigned work, ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards. The Civil Foreman serves as the field point of contact for their crew and supports project execution at the ground level.

Supervisory Responsibilities

The Civil Foreman will oversee a crew of laborers and equipment operators (typically 3–8 individuals). Responsible for crew safety, task quality, and daily production goals.

What You'll Do

• Lead and participate in daily civil construction activities, ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently, and according to project plans and specifications.
• Coordinate crew operations, materials, equipment, and schedules while communicating progress and resource needs with project leadership.
• Promote a strong safety culture by conducting pre-task planning, job hazard analyses, safety meetings, and ensuring compliance with company and regulatory requirements.
• Maintain high-quality workmanship by inspecting completed work, enforcing quality standards, and monitoring daily labor, equipment, and production activities.
• Mentor and develop crew members through training, coaching, and hands-on leadership while supporting overall project success and performing other duties as assigned.

What You Bring

• 3+ years of civil construction experience, including at least 1 year in a lead or foreman role.
• Strong knowledge of civil construction practices, including grading, trenching, backfill, concrete, erosion control, and interpreting construction plans and drawings.
• Proven leadership, communication, and team-building skills with the ability to effectively lead field crews.
• OSHA 10 certification required (OSHA 30 preferred), valid driver's license, and willingness to travel 100%.
• Ability to work in physically demanding environments, including lifting up to 50 pounds, navigating active construction sites, and performing work in varying outdoor conditions.
