Civil Field Engineering Inspection Intern (Summer 27)

Launch your career with RS&H as a Civil Field Engineering Inspection Intern. Join the Transportation Construction Management team throughout our Texas markets for the Summer of 2027. As a Civil Field Engineering Inspection intern you will collaborate with and be mentored by top engineering associates while gaining hands‑on experience and a deeper understanding of the Transportation Construction Management profession. The ideal candidate is enthusiastic, motivated, honest, dependable, a strong communicator, and a team player.
Responsibilities
- Support inspection teams with field inspections
- Verify the dimensions of prepared and completed work
- Collect and prepare data for evaluation
- Perform engineering tasks using computer‑assisted engineering software and equipment
- Prepare reports for site operations activities, including materials used and completed work
- Provide support to engineering and project‑management associates
Qualifications
- Currently pursuing a degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Construction Engineering, Engineering Management, or a related program at an ABET‑accredited university
- Ability to work independently with general supervision and within a collaborative team environment
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite
- Good driving record with a valid driver’s license
- Physical ability to sit, stand, climb, bend, twist, or stoop frequently and for prolonged periods under various outdoor conditions
- Ability to reach horizontally and vertically as required
- Ability to use construction or inspection safety equipment, including fall protection
- Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 lb and shake up to 20 lb
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States on a permanent basis (no visa sponsorship or transfer available)
