Civil Field Engineering Inspection Intern (Summer 27)

Responsibilities
- Support inspection teams with field inspections.
- Verify the dimensions of prepared and completed work.
- Collect and prepare data for evaluation.
- Perform engineering tasks using computer‑assisted engineering software and equipment.
- Prepare reports for site operations activities, including materials used and completed work.
- Provide support to engineering and project management associates.
Qualifications
- Currently pursuing a degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Construction Engineering, Engineering Management, or a related program at an ABET‑accredited university.
- Ability to work independently with general supervision and within a collaborative team environment.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite.
- Good driving record with a valid driver’s license.
- Physical ability to sit, stand, climb, bend, twist, or stoop frequently and for prolonged periods under various outside conditions.
- Ability to reach horizontally and vertically as required.
- Ability to use construction or inspection safety equipment, including fall protection.
- Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and shake up to 20 pounds.
- Legal authorization to work in the United States on a permanent basis (no visa sponsorship or transfer).
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior internship or related experience.
Pay
The salary range for this position in Virginia is $20 to $28 per hour, plus overtime pay at 1.5 times the regular rate for eligible hours worked. Compensation will be based on experience, skills, qualifications, internal equity, and geographic location.
