Civil/Environmental EIT
About the role
The primary duties of this position include all aspects of engineering for solid waste facilities and environmental projects such as landfills, recycling facilities, remediation sites, and waste transfer stations. The successful candidate will also have the opportunity to leverage their skills on a variety of infrastructure projects.
Responsibilities
- Assist Project Managers/Project Engineers with: Completing site evaluations, soil reports, grading plans, design details, landfill gas, sediment soil and groundwater sampling, geologic logging of borings, storm water modeling and conduct engineering analysis and calculations for permitting, permit compliance, solid waste and environmental feasibility studies, prepare reports, construction drawings and specifications and construction management.
- Prepare environmental permit documents on behalf of clients for regulatory agency compliance, coordinate and complete permitting project.
- Performing site visits and prepares documents for public and private clients for a broad range of environmental compliance issues.
- Performing overall site layout, grading, utility layout and drainage.
- Performing routine engineering assignments requiring application of standard techniques and procedures.
- Performing administrative duties associated with project management for civil/site projects.
- Work both independently on small projects and as part of larger project teams to assist senior personnel.
Requirements
- Minimum of 1 year general Civil/Environmental experience with an emphasis on environmental compliance, design, permitting, and construction preferred
- EIT certification strongly preferred
- Candidates hired without their EIT will have the title of "Coordinator" and will be expected to obtain their EIT for career progression
- Prior experience with field work and environmental regulations is a plus
- Familiarity with AutoCAD Civil 3D and MicroStation is a plus
- Preference given to local candidates
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Environmental Engineering or closely related Engineering field
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
