About the role
The Civil Engineering Practice at David Evans and Associates is seeking a Civil Engineering Project Engineer in Everett, Bellevue, Woodinville or Tacoma, WA.
Responsibilities
- Lead and manage land development projects from conception to completion, including site planning, design, permitting, and construction administration.
- Collaborate with clients, architects, planners, regulatory agencies, and internal team members to develop project scopes, budgets, and schedules.
- Conduct site feasibility studies, including land use analysis, zoning reviews, and environmental assessments.
- Prepare and review engineering design calculations, plans, and specifications for site grading, utilities, stormwater management, and erosion control.
- Obtain necessary permits and approvals from regulatory agencies, ensuring compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
- Cook up and oversee the work of design consultants, contractors, and subcontractors throughout the project lifecycle.
- Manage project budgets, timelines, and resources to ensure projects are delivered within scope and budget constraints.
- Conduct regular site visits and inspections to monitor construction progress, quality, and compliance with design specifications.
- Proactively identify and mitigate project risks and issues to ensure successful project delivery.
- Communicate project status, updates, and issues to clients, stakeholders, and senior management.
- Aid in business development efforts by maintaining and growing client relationships in the private sector.
- Drive projects involving platting, subdivision design, and entitlement processes for commercial, multifamily, and master-planned communities.
Requirements
- Minimum 10 years of experience specifically in private-sector land development, including at least 5 years leading projects involving platting, commercial site development, and multifamily or mixed-use work.
- Proven track record of developing new business and negotiating profitable project awards in the Puget Sound region is required.
- Registered Engineer in the State of Washington.
- Active Industry BD Association Membership(s) desired.

Potential salary range: $130,000 - $170,000
