Civil Engineering Principal - $15,000 Sign-On Bonus

About the role

You will lead the process of bringing site development projects to life in our Pittsburgh, PA Office. You will be responsible for business development, client management, and overseeing Project Managers, including oversight of technical and financial aspects of projects.

Responsibilities

  • Represent the company at conferences and in client meetings to secure and coordinate work.
  • Work closely with other CEC professionals locally and across the country to develop opportunities and build business relationships.
  • Apply best practices to address client needs, conduct technical reviews of client deliverables, and provide mentorship and oversight to Project Managers and supporting staff.
  • Guide the internal team and external stakeholders through regulatory processes, provide construction deliverables and support, and ensure the financial success and technical excellence of your projects by mentoring a team of Project Managers and junior engineers.
  • Guide a team of experienced engineers as they successfully deliver complex and multi-faceted projects on time and on budget for our clients.

Requirements

  • 15+ years of experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering
  • Professional Engineer licensure (P.E.) required
  • Technical design expertise, including site layout and test fits, grading, stormwater management, erosion & sedimentation control, and site utility design
  • Established client base
  • Established relationships with industry professionals and regulators
  • Proven experience in the management and development of a consulting engineering team
  • Experience with varying types of projects such as industrial/manufacturing development; natural gas; commercial land development; or renewable energy/power generation

Qualifications

  • Leadership roles within professional industry groups
  • In-depth understanding of local and state land development regulations and processes, including zoning, stormwater management, and erosion & sedimentation control
  • A portfolio or list of past projects outlining key design elements and your role in the projects
  • Proven ability to build relationships, provide effective mentoring, and build team morale

  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Proficient in project management software and tools

$15,000 sign-on bonus for eligible candidates
