Civil Engineering PE- Land Development

About the role

NV5 is seeking a full-time Civil Engineering PE for our Cary, NC office. The PE will provide engineering and design support to Project Managers on site development and utility projects, including CAD design for roads, grading, and utilities.

Responsibilities

• Provide all required engineering design and appropriate calculations for site layout, grading, erosion and sedimentation control, potable water, sanitary sewer, stormwater drainage, and SCM design components for site development projects.
• Use AutoCAD Civil 3D and/or MicroStation, WaterCAD, Excel, stormwater modeling software, and other civil design tools proficiently.
• Complete project tasks within deadlines and work within allotted project budgets.
• Coordinate work with other project managers, engineers, and designers.
• Correspond with clients and permit reviewers (written and verbal) under the direction of the Project Manager.
• Ensure quality control procedures are implemented.
• Market NV5 through involvement in professional and civic organizations.
• Handle other special assignments as directed.

Requirements

• BS degree in Civil Engineering.
• 4 to 10 years of civil/site-related work experience.
• PE license.
• Basic Microsoft Office skills.
• Proficient in the use of AutoCAD Civil 3D (preferred) or MicroStation/GeoPak.
