About the Role

Bohler’s office in Orlando, FL is seeking a motivated Civil Engineering Intern (Land Development) eager to learn, grow, and contribute to real-world site design projects. As a Summer 2027 intern, you will gain insight into the daily operations of a civil engineering firm and understand the complete site development process, from concept to construction. By working alongside engineers, designers, and project managers, you will gain hands-on experience with AutoCAD Civil 3D, supporting the design and permitting of commercial, residential, industrial, and mixed-use developments.

Responsibilities

  • Experience the day-to-day operations of a civil engineering and site design firm
  • Learn the stages of the land development and site design process
  • Enhance your technical skills with hands-on experience using AutoCAD Civil 3D to design:
    • Concept plans
    • Grading plans
    • Stormwater management plans
    • Utility system plans
    • Soil erosion and sediment control plans
  • Collaborate with engineers, designers, and project managers to coordinate and drive projects forward
  • Research zoning ordinances and coordinate with local jurisdictions
  • Visit sites to observe field conditions and see the engineering process in action
  • Participate in team meetings and contribute ideas to design and process improvements

Requirements

  • Enrollment in a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree program in Civil, Environmental, Biosystems Engineering, or a related field
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills
  • A self-starter attitude with the ability to work both independently and collaboratively
  • Familiarity with AutoCAD Civil 3D (preferred; training provided if not yet proficient)
  • Curiosity and motivation to learn within a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
  • Interest in civil site design, land development, and problem-solving

Pay

In addition to base pay, we offer competitive compensation.

Work Authorization

Applicants must have current authorization to work in the United States. Bohler does not sponsor petition-based employment visas that require formal USCIS filings, such as H-1B or PERM-based green cards. Bohler may provide employer support letters for TN (Canadian or Mexican citizens) or E-3 (Australian citizens) when business needs permit.
