Civil Engineering Intern (Highway) - Summer 2027
About the Role
We currently seek a Highway Engineering Intern to join our Infrastructure Business Unit in Tallahassee, Florida for Summer 2027. The Highway Engineering Intern will be mentored by and collaborate with top Engineering associates on our team, assisting on both design and plan preparation for roadway projects. This is an opportunity to gain hands-on experience and a deeper understanding of the Transportation Engineering industry.
Responsibilities
- Perform routine calculations requiring knowledge and application of basic engineering principles
- Prepare and revise plan documents and details
- Collect and prepare data for evaluation
- Perform engineering tasks using computer-assisted engineering software and equipment
- Provide support to engineering and project management associates
Requirements
- Current student pursuing a Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Civil Engineering at an accredited ABET university
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work on multiple assignments simultaneously
Preferred Qualifications
- 3.0 GPA or above
- Prior internship or related experience
- AutoCAD and/or Microstation experience
- Experience or exposure to FDOT plans preparation and design standards
- Specific interest in Transportation / Roadway Design
