About us
A minority-owned Civil Engineering firm located in Chicago, Illinois. We are rapidly growing with multiple projects planned over the next few years and are looking to add a talented Mid-level Civil Engineer to our team.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and execute engineering projects related to transportation infrastructure, including roads, bridges, tunnels, and traffic systems.
- Utilize software tools such as MicroStation, PowerGEOPAK, and OpenRoads for designing and modeling transportation systems.
- Perform complex analysis and studies related to roadway geometrics and develop design solutions to address transportation-related challenges.
- Prepare and review technical documents, including design plans, specifications, and cost estimates.
- Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams, stakeholders, and clients to ensure project requirements are met.
- Ensure all designs and projects comply with local, state, and federal regulations and standards.
- Provide technical guidance and mentor junior engineers and technicians.
- Conduct site visits and inspections to ensure projects are implemented as per design specifications.
- Participate in project meetings and provide updates on project status, design concepts, and address potential issues.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related field. A Master's degree or Professional Engineer (PE) license is preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in civil engineering with a focus on transportation design and roadway geometrics.
- Proficiency in using engineering software tools such as MicroStation, PowerGEOPAK, and OpenRoads.
- Strong knowledge of local, state, and federal transportation design standards and regulations.
- Excellent technical skills, including the ability to perform complex calculations and use modeling software.
- Strong project management skills, including the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment and communicate complex engineering concepts clearly.
- Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to develop innovative solutions to engineering challenges.
- Valid driver's license and the ability to travel to project sites as needed.
