Civil Engineer Transportation Advanced - Design Engineer - $3,000 Sign on Bonus!
Position Summary
This position functions as a Civil Engineer within the Project Development section of the Southeast Region. The position performs the highest degree of independent discretion and judgment on transportation improvement projects in both the construction and design phases. This position manages activities on multiple projects including those of a highly complex nature for continuity in design and in construction phases. This position serves as a resource and advisor to the supervisors and project leaders. For less than 50% of the time this position may also perform as a design leader directing major complex projects and assist the team by advising and coaching team members on projects.
Essential Functions
The essential function of this position is to act as a project manager in the design of transportation improvement projects. The project manager has primary responsibility for scoping, scheduling, budgeting, and overall project quality.
Qualifications
- A valid Professional Engineering registration and be able to obtain a Wisconsin PE registration within 3 months if PE registration is from another state.
Salary Information
This position is in schedule-range (14-13) with an annual salary of $92,768-$114,483, plus excellent benefits. A twelve month probationary period is required. Pay for current state employees will be set in accordance with the Wisconsin State Compensation Plan.

Work Environment
- Hybridized work schedule with headquarters at Waukesha State Office Building at least 2 days per week.
- Fieldwork which may include walking over rough terrain and working in areas with high volume traffic.
- Occasional statewide travel.
- Ability to work outdoors in conditions of heat, cold, humidity, and dust.
