Duties
- You will be responsible for executing in-house structural engineering design work products and services within specified milestones and quality standards.
- You will perform quality assurance review of drawings, specifications, calculations, cost estimates, and studies prepared by A/E design firms.
- You will conduct site investigation field trips to project sites.
- You will prepare correspondence, reports, and economic analyses.
- You will prepare written and oral presentations regarding architectural-related topics.
- You will assist with construction quality assurance for active construction projects including the following activities; submittal review, responding to RFIs, quality assurance site visits and inspections, commissioning, and project closeout.
Qualifications
- Your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector.
- Specialized experience must demonstrate the following:
- Applying structural engineering expertise to designs for major projects for customers;
- Managing structural engineering facilities projects with adherence to budget, schedule, and quality standards;
- Performing field investigations to verify and document existing structural conditions as a basis for the design of facility projects;
- Providing technical advice and guidance to client staff engineers on design support of architectural and engineering contracts.
