Civil Engineer/Project Manager - Water Resources
About the role
Huitt-Zollars, Inc has a full-time opportunity for a Civil Engineer/Project Manager - Water Resources (Eng IV) with more than 10 years of experience in our Oklahoma City office. Preference is a licensed engineer in the state of Oklahoma. Experience in the Oklahoma City area is desired. The role will include providing oversight of a diverse range of stormwater projects in addition to managing project budgets, business development, and mentoring staff. The position will include working collaboratively in a team environment providing engineering analysis and design for public works infrastructure and transportation projects.
Responsibilities
- Lead staff in the preparation of hydrologic and hydraulic modeling for stormwater management, floodplain mapping, and drainage analysis and design.
- Lead staff in the preparation of plans, specifications, and estimates for water resource related construction documents.
- Utilize software such as HEC-RAS, HEC-HMS, Infoworks ICM, XPSWMM, MicroStation ORD-DU, AutoCAD Civil 3D, and GIS for design and analysis.
- Conduct quality reviews on H&H work to ensure accuracy and regulatory compliance.
- Interface daily with clients, develop proposals, negotiate scopes and fees, ensure timely billing and collections and prepare change orders.
- Support client engagement, permitting, and regulatory compliance with local agencies, ODOT, and FEMA.
- Train and mentor staff for technical, managerial, and professional growth.
- Identify contacts/clients/opportunities for new work.
- Provide leadership to identify opportunities for growth and develop strategic plans to achieve discipline-specific and company growth.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering (BSCE).
- Registered Professional Engineer in the State of Oklahoma or ability to attain.
- More than 10 years of civil engineering design experience.
- Strong technical skills in a wide range of hydrologic & hydraulic analyses.
- Ability to mentor staff in the preparation of civil engineering documents and specifications.
- Ability to work in a team environment.
- Ability to write clearly to communicate technical issues and design ideas.
- Ability to lead and foster professional growth.
Qualifications

Physical Requirements
