Civil Engineer Project Manager, Transportation Design
Position Overview
We are seeking a Project Manager to join our dynamic Transportation Team at our Dayton or Columbus office. This position reports to the Transportation Practice Leader and is responsible for assisting current project managers in the execution of their current projects, developing relationships with our current clients, and positioning themselves to manage future projects. Projects managed will likely be for our local government clients (LPA projects) where the Project Manager will lead the overall execution of the project while also serving as a technical lead on a portion of the project.
What You Will Do:
- Lead project teams through the development of preliminary engineering, detailed design, and quantification of transportation projects.
- Lead design or help design complex roadway and transportation projects that require creative solutions. Projects include roadway, bikeways, pedestrian facilities, roundabouts, trails, multi-modal transportation or transportation planning.
- Perform engineering design tasks such as highway and street design, roadway alignments, roundabout design, roadway grading and modeling, curb ramp design, signing and pavement plan, maintenance of traffic, storm drainage.
- Perform designs using software including MicroStation, OpenRoads Designer (ORD), AutoCAD, and/or Civil 3D.
- Respond to requests for proposals by leading the development of the proposal submission as well as preparing scope, schedule and budget of projects.
- Ensure deliverables and quality standards are met in accordance with the agreed scope, schedule, and budget.
- Manage and support internal and client cross-functional teams.
- Leverage existing relationships and new client and consultant relationships in the pursuit of new work.
- Actively participate in professional societies, organizations, and conferences by serving on boards, presenting at luncheons or conferences.
What You Will Bring:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering from an ABET-accredited program.
- Active PE License in Ohio or ability to obtain an Ohio PE license within one year of hire.
- 5-15 years of experience in transportation design (strong preference for roadway experience).
- Must be able to travel 5-10% to client sites.
- Knowledge of ODOT Project Development Process, construction documentation & administration and knowledge in state, local municipalities design process is a plus.
- Bentley Open Road Designer or Civil3D experience.
- Strong leadership, organization, and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently as well as in a collaborative team environment; offer constructive feedback and direction to support goals.

Pay Range
$101,200 - $126,500 USD
Qualifications
- Qualified candidates may be eligible for a signing bonus of up to $5,000, based on experience and role alignment. Bonus eligibility is contingent upon 12 months of service and must be repaid if the employee leaves the company within one year of hire.
